I melted a combination of expired eyeliners, eye shadows, and black pigments into my encaustics medium to layer over gold foil salvaged from cosmetic boxes and chocolate foils. Gold foil in packaging is meant to show that the product it contains is worthy of gold, however, it became trash the moment it looses its usefulness. It has now a new life as part of an artwork, a new product.
