Beauty in the Periphery (2011) Portland, OR.
Through an exploration of the natural environment, the series captures the perfection of botanical life.
With a keen focus on our environment, I attempt to reveal eternity in the world around us. Many of the natural elements I chose to encapsulate are common in the Fall season when trees and most plants shed their coats in the rain and chill of the air. These elements imply a cycle of renewal. I embellish the shadow boxes with patterns.
The brushstrokes represent a sweeping line of time for us to appreciate, if we only cast our eyes, to see beyond and take in what surrounds us.
